  • How long before I get my EdIndex number?

    • Times can vary but you should expect to receive your EdIndex number within 2-3 weeks.
  • How do I apply for a house with Prospect?

    • We advertise all our empty properties through EdIndex and advertise them on the Key to Choice website, if you want a property from us, you need to apply to EdIndex. You can obtain an application form from them on 0131 529 5080, collect one from our office, or contact us and we can post you out a form.
  • Can you send me out an EdIndex form?

    • You can obtain an application form from them on 0131 529 5080, collect one from our office, or contact us and we can post you out a form.
  • Was I successful with my bid?

    • If you have been successful we will contact you. It is important that you ensure all your details are up to date on EdIndex, particularly your mobile phone number and email address.
  • How do I end my tenancy?

    • If you wish to end your tenancy you need to give us 28 days notice in writing, by email or by completing the Feedback form found by scrolling down to the bottom of this page.
    • If you are joint tenants we need both signatures on the letter or form.
  • Can I buy my house?

    • 'Right to Buy' ended for all council and housing association tenants in Scotland on 31 July 2016 therefore you are unable to buy your house.
  • I want to move house, can you help?

    • If you want to move to another property in Edinburgh you need to apply to EdIndex and bid for properties through Key to Choice. You can obtain an application form from them on 0131 529 5080, collect one from our office, or contact us and we can post you out a form.

    If you want to downsize to a smaller property, or do a mutual exchange we can give you advice and assistance, please contact us to discuss.

  • Am I able to sublet my property?

    You have the right to apply to sublet your property. Prospect will consider your application and advise you of the outcome.  You need to have lived in the property for at least 12 months before you can apply.  Our leaflet Housing Scotland Act 2014 Changes to your Tenancy explains more.  Please contact us if you require information.

  • Where am I on the waiting list for a house?

    • Prospect does not have a housing waiting list. All our properties are advertised through Key to Choice which allows applicants to bid for advertised properties that they wish to be considered for.
