Modern Apprenticeships

Our modern apprentice Jack was commended for his entry in the Scottish Federation of Housing Association’s Apprentice Challenge. To mark last week’s Scottish Apprenticeship Week, the SFHA invited housing apprentices to create an online poster for schools and colleges that advertised why social housing is a great career opportunity.

Jack’s poster was commended in the top 5 entries. The SFHA commented on the way he captured the value of apprenticeships in social housing and the real career pathways they create. In his entry, Jack said

“Apprenticeships provide an accessible and hands-on alternative for those who prefer practical learning over traditional classroom-based study.

An apprenticeship offers a strong entry point into the social housing sector and provides a solid foundation for career progression into more senior roles.”
