Value of community based approach

We were delighted to find that our new development at Clovenstone Close has made the front cover of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations Annual Charter Report. This report analyses the Charter outcomes reported to the Scottish Housing Regulator for their 67 member associations and collates their performance levels.

With Prospect being firmly rooted within the Wester Hailes community in Edinburgh, it might seem unusual that we are members of a Forum that is primarily made up of housing associations based at the other end of the M8. But as a smaller community-based association we have welcomed the value of belonging to a network of organisations who focus on the community as a core value. The GWSF lobbies on our behalf, and we are able to meet other community-based associations at their conferences and through networking opportunities.

The GWSF Charter Report highlights that community-based housing associations are still the top performers in Scotland across a range of key indicators including the most responsive repair services, the fastest re-let times and the lowest rent arrears, demonstrating their ability to be efficient and effective whilst maintaining high standards. This resonates with Prospect’s own performance indicators that show for example that we are the highest performing local landlord for our repairs service, as well as our rents being the lowest.
