Downsizing 3-1!

We asked a Prospect tenant about her recent experience of downsizing from a 3 bedroomed house to a 1 bedroomed flat. Most people need different sizes of homes during their lives. Downsizing can be a great option if your home has started to feel too large. 

Mrs L brought up her family in a 3 bedroomed house. With her family long grown up and left, Mrs L was starting to find her home felt a bit too large. She worried about the upkeep of her garden. Getting up and down the internal stairs was becoming a struggle. When she heard about Clovenstone Close, she wondered if her future lay in a new build flat!

 She got in touch with Prospect and had several chats with us. The idea of moving from a 3 bedroomed home to a 1 bedroomed flat seemed very daunting. She worried that her children had memories attached to the family home. But she felt it was now time to make a move for her and her future. She made her decision to downsize.

 “I love the newness of my property, it is so cosy and bigger than I expected. My bills are much lower. I was worried about how I would sleep in a stair after years being in a house, but the sound proofing is excellent. And I’ve found being so close to a bus stop is really helpful and means I go out more. I feel right at home. It’s been the best decision I’ve made.
