Young people from the High School visited Prospect recently to tell us about their environmental activities in Westburn Woods. Pupils from S2 and S3 have been spending time in the woods to learn about its history, and about the trees, plants and animals that are in this area of greenspace. As well as helping to clear out rubbish, they also found out about invasive plants and helped to cut back brambles, and reduce the amount of few flower leeks that can choke out other native species. They planted wild flower bombs, and also helped plant trees back at the High School.
We were very impressed by all that they have achieved, and awarded Prospect Nature Award certificates in appreciation of their efforts to help maintain Westburn Woods and their awareness of the importance of natural greenspace.
