Debt Collection Arrangements: BCW
As part of our commitment to reduce money lost to the association, Prospect are currently working with the debt collection agency BCW. Debts such as unpaid rechargeable repairs or former tenant rent arrears will be passed on to BCW to recover, if efforts by Prospect staff to collect payment are unsuccessful.
If you receive a letter from BCW in relation to a Prospect debt, you must make a payment arrangement direct with BCW as by now we will have transferred the account to them for collection. BCW have the ability to trace former tenants for whom we do not have an address, and if necessary take court action that could affect your credit scoring and result in arrestment of wages and/or bank accounts. It is essential therefore that you come to a repayment agreement with BCW if you want to avoid the risk of court action being taken against you.
If you want to avoid any debts you owe with Prospect being pursued by debt collection, please ensure to contact Prospect as soon as you are advised of the debt, and either clear the debt in full or repay it via an agreed repayment arrangement.
