Energy Savings Packs
Over the last few weeks, we have been delivering energy savings packs to 300 tenants. Thanks to funding from the Scottish Government's Communities Recovery Fund, we have been able to distribute energy saving items to tenants to help support energy efficiency in their homes, and reduction in their fuel bills. The packs contain radiator panels, draught excluders, switch off standby plugs, and energy saving lightbulbs. There is also information in the packs about how to use the items alongside other energy savings tips. Tenants have been very pleased to receive the packs. One of our tenants in Westburn said
“Thanks very much, that’s made my day. That will be really helpful.”
The energy packs are part of a larger grant of £59,038 that we received alongside our ARCHIE partners Manor Estates HA, Viewpoint HA, West Granton HC and Lister HC. Overall, 905 social housing tenants across Edinburgh will have received energy savings packs. The project is also supporting the distribution of Chromebooks and connectivity to 85 tenants who have no online access. And it has provided specialist debt advice for tenants in situations of multiple debt to offer support in reducing their debt to manageable levels.
ARCHIE is an alliance of seven independent Edinburgh registered co-operatives and housing associations providing affordable homes to more than 20,000 people. It was established in 2019 to enable us to share skills, experience and resources to enhance the services we deliver to tenants and our wider communities.
